Reddit needs tags

Back in the old days of reddit, the site contained mainly articles, blog posts and pages full of text. The site has come a long way since then, expanding into a wider variety or categories. Some examples of the new categories are: photos, videos and games. Maybe we can get tags for different categories on reddit. Some examples for tags might be: politics, science, programming, videos, etc. Reddit would have only one homepage, no subreddits. In our prefrences section we can change what tags we want to see. So if you hate politics you will not have to view those stories on reddit anymore. This is just a thought, and I CANNOT make any promises.
